Scottish Cranachan special menu

Burns Night, also known as Robert Burns Night or Rabbie Burns Day, is a celebration of the life and poetry of Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet. It takes place on Thursday 25th January in 2024.

'Burns Night' (the first ‘Burns supper’) originated in 1801 when nine of the Bard’s closest friends gathered to commemorate the fifth anniversary of his death with haggis, performances and speeches in honour of his work. It has since been repeated every year on his birthday, thus beginning the tradition of Burns Night.

The celebrations at our restaurants look something like this:

To start, everyone takes their seats, and the host recites The Selkirk Grace, a Burns prayer said before meals.

The meal of a traditional Burns supper is served.
